No fishing license required anywhere in Arkansas. Perfect weekend to introduce kids to the sport. All public waters, all species, all ages welcome.

Annual trout derby on the Spring River coinciding with Free Fishing Weekend. Stocked rainbows throughout the float section. Canoe liveries offering discount rentals that weekend.

Guided hike on the Ozark Highlands Trail along Sylamore Creek in Ozark National Forest. 6 miles round trip, moderate. Wildflowers and swimming hole at turnaround. Free, no permit required.

AGFC-sponsored youth derby at stocked Marion County Lake. Ages 15 and under fish free. Prizes, free bait provided. Registration 7 AM, fishing 8–11 AM.

Open-division tournament out of Gamaliel ramp. All boats welcome. Largemouth and spotted bass with excellent keeper counts expected from post-spawn summer patterns. Entry fee applies.

Fourth of July weekend catfish tournament on Bull Shoals Lake. Blue and channel cat in the deep timber near the dam. Night fishing allowed. Fireworks viewing on the water after weigh-in.
